Bookings, Deposits, & Payments

Orders should be placed and confirmed with at least a 2 week notice. This gives me time to plan and design your special cookies and gather or order supplies like special cookie cutters. Orders placed within a 2 week time frame may be subject to a rush order fee.

Client shall reserve the time and date of services by paying a non-refundable, non-transferable reservation retainer equal to 50% of the total cost. No date is reserved until the retainer is received. The balance due must be paid in full 1 week before the order due date.

If the payment schedule is not met, your order will be canceled, contract will be null and void, and Sif and Sugar will have no further obligation hereunder. Any deposits/payments made to the date will not be refunded and the event date will be made available to other potential clients.

Order Details & Changes

All cancellations or changes to your order: event date, size, style, flavors, etc must be made in writing. Any changes made after retainer payment, but before final payment, may incur additional charges.

The final payment due date is the final date for any cancellations or changes to your order. After that lockout date, I cannot accept any changes.

Please ensure all order details, personal information, spelling of names, collection/delivery dates and times and any requested changes have been properly documented on your invoice. It is your responsibility to check all details outlined in your estimate and/or invoice.

Design & Color Matching

I will not duplicate an exact copy of another artist’s work. Any inspiration photos provided will be used as a guide. I will do my best to match color requests. Please keep in mind that I cannot match a “verbal” color or a color sent via electronic device as all devices display color differently. I aim for a perfect match, but this is not always possible, especially when working with food products and edible colors. I cannot guarantee any colors.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing and are not subject to refunds. Please be aware that potential clients are turned away once dates are full, with some peak dates booked out months prior. Additionally, all items are handmade and made to order, for this reason, the retainer and/or any payments made are non-refundable if an order is canceled.

If your event date changes due to illness/emergency/weather/etc. I will be happy to transfer any payment made on that order to another order within three (3) months of that date.

Refund/Exchange Policy

While I want you to love your cookies, if you are not satisfied with your order, please return all uneaten cookies within 24 hours so I can assess their condition and troubleshoot any problems. We will then determine if a credit may be issued for a future order.

After you accept your order, it is out of my hands. Make sure to avoid extreme temperatures.

Allergens & Cottage Food Laws

Baked goods are often made with foods that can be known allergens. While I can do my best to accommodate I can’t always accommodate allergy-conscious orders. Please reach out to me for more information. If I am unable to accommodate, I may have a referral for you.

All orders are made in a home kitchen that is not inspected by the State of CA. My kitchen is not nut free, egg free, dairy free, or gluten free.

Photography & Media Policy

I share photos of my baked goods on social media, but surprises are safe with me. I will not share photos online before your event. If you do not want your cookies in the spotlight, please let me know at the time you place your order.
